TCN lines up $6.2 billion for power transmission projects

Nigeria: The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it has lined up $6.2 billion to upgrade power transmission projects.

 


Nigeria: The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it has lined up $6.2 billion to upgrade power transmission projects.

The company has already systematically expanded its grid and has completed 19 major projects comprising transmission substations, as well as single and double circuit transmission lines which are already operational.

Some of these projects include the provision of two 150 MVA transformers and a 330/132 kV substation for Yola and two 30/40 MVA and a 132/33 kV substation for Tamburawa.

The company currently has 174 ongoing substation and transmission line projects nationwide, including four 300 MVA, four 150 MVA, four 100 MVA, seven 60 MVA and three 40 MVA transformers, reports Business Day.

NDPHC is investing in transmission substations in line with TCN plans. The projects are handed over to TCN on completion. It has various ongoing transmission projects which will also be handed over to TCN.
