Kalinin NPP to be shut down for transformer overhaul until mid-December

Russia, Tver Oblast: The third unit of Kalinin nuclear power station will be shut down until the 18th December 2014 for scheduled overhaul.

 


Russia, Tver Oblast: The third unit of Kalinin nuclear power station will be shut down until the 18th December 2014 for scheduled overhaul.

According to the plan, the unit transformer, as well as the turbogenerator and turbine will be overhauled, reports Neftegaz.
 
The plant which has four units was launched in December 2011. It produces 70% of the total electricity for the region and delivers power into the national grid centre of Russia and further in Tver, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladimir and Cherepovets.
