BHEL wins order for 444 MW hydroelectric project in Uttarakhand

India, Uttarakhand: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) secured a INR 422 crore ($69 million) contract for setting up a 444 MW hydroelectric project (HEP).

 


India, Uttarakhand: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) secured a INR 422 crore ($69 million) contract for setting up a 444 MW hydroelectric project (HEP).

This is the second major contract BHEL had won for a hydroelectric project in Uttarakhand in 2014, reports Net Indian. In March this year, the company won an order for the 2×60 MW Vyasi HEP from Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL).

Vishnugad Pipalkoti HEP project comprises four hydro-generating sets of 111 MW capacity each, with vertical Francis turbines and matching hydro generators.

BHEL’s scope of work includes engineering, procurement and construction of all hydro generating sets and associated electro mechanical works. The transformers and control and monitoring system will be supplied by the BHEL’s Jhansi unit and Electronics Division, Bangalore.
