USA, Oklahoma: New power transformer has been delivered to West Tamarack substation in Altus.

The new transformer was lifted into place by crane operators of Panhandle Crane Service of Amarillo,Texas. It weighs 80 tonnes and is an addition to the substation which is now duplexed with two transformers. It will allow Altus Power to decommission the old 1957 transformer at the Nona substation.

In March, the Council approved to borrow a $1.8 million loan with Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority for the new transformer and distribution line upgrades. The loan also included a temporary lease of a transformer while the new one is being built, reports Altus Times.

Dan Scott, Altus Power Director, stated that the new transformer and upgrades should be completed in the spring of 2015.
