After two years of implementation, Endesa’s technical replacement work and commissioning of a new indoor high voltage transformer park in Spanish Gibraleon substation (located on la Avenida Cristo de la Sangre in Huelva) have been completed.

According to the company statement, the reconstruction of the facility, which affects the entire transformer park has cost more than $635,000. All switchgear had to be moved inside the building, away from the wall on periphery of the substation.

In addition, the park is more environmentally friendly and organised. Park security has been increased because the town is in the vicinity of the substation, which dates back to 1927 and originally stood just outside the village. It has now been integrated with the town due to the development of municipality.

The latest materials and technology have been used to improve the quality of power supply service in Gibraleon and allow the upgrade and exploitation of the 66 kV line. The substation has two high to medium voltage transformers of 50/15 kV and 40 MW of total capacity and six medium voltage lines for the local energy distribution.
