Venezuela, Caracas: The flagship project for 2015 in Caracas will be the replacement of the underground power network in the west of the capital, including new power transformers for substations Coche and Propatria.

Major modernisation of substations and Coche and Propatria Car will cost $5.1 million, according to Carlos Borges, Manager of Distribution and Marketing in CORPOELEC.

Borges also explained that in 2014, CORPOELEC installed a number of power transformers in various substations in the region such as in Las Mercedes, Sabana Grande, La Castellana and Aragua.

A mobile substation will soon be placed in the Coche substation during the installation of the new transformer in order to minimise service disruptions in the area, reports Aporrea.
