Argentina, Buenos Aires: Antonov 124 landed in the city carrying transformer substation to strengthen power supply during the summer.

The aircraft  can carry up to 150 tonnes and it delivered the first of three mobile electrical substations manufactured in Portugal which will be installed by Edesur, reports Clarín.

This first mobile substation arrived yesterday and will be installed in Villa Santa Rita with an investment of $5.5 million. The mobile substation comprises one high voltage transformer and a medium voltage transformer. The length of each is nearly 30 m and each weighs slightly more than 78 tonnes.

It is expected that the other two mobile substations will also arrive from Portugal this month and will be installed at Liniers and Azcuénaga substations. The total investment in the substations will be $16.8 million.
