ETED commissions a 200 MVA transformer installation

La Empresa de Transmision Electrica Dominicana – ETED (The Dominican Electricity Transmission Company) commissioned a new 200 MVA power transformer in Palamara substation, The Dominican Republic.
The aim is to improve the quality and continuity of electrical energy supplied through the electrical networks of the substation located in Guayiga in Santo Domingo province.
With the installation of the new transformer, the company repaired the damage at the substation caused by overheating of the previous transformer. The incident was caused by an increased power demand which put the SENI (National Electricity System) costs up.
The Palamara substation was updated with an investment of RD $ 82,000,000.
