USA, San Francisco: A heavy storm causing malfunction to a Pacific Gas & Electric transformer has left nearly 300,000 customers without power.

A transformer blew out in the vicinity of high-rise hotels forcing the shutdown of the Bay Area Rapid Transit Montgomery Station, reports CBS San Francisco.

While many of the outage areas have been resolved, a failure at the Larkin substation remains an issue, leaving nearly 8,000 customers still without power.
