Krasnoyarsk earns second 500 kV substation

Russia, Krasnoyarsk: The Yenisey 500 kV substation has been commissioned in the central region of Krasnoyarsk.

With the new substation, Krasnoyarsk will receive additional 1,602 MW of power. The old object whose transformer capacity exceeds 2,400 MVA was built in 1963 and could no longer cater for the growing load in the region, reports VSP.

The project included installation of seven phases of 500/220/10 kV autotransformers of a total capacity of 1,602 MVA, two outdoor switchgears (500 and 220 kV), as well as the construction of over 30 km of power lines and auxiliary facilities.
