Japan funds supply of new transformers in Mozambique

Mozambique, Nampula: The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will donate $18.5 million for the construction of a new electrical substation in Namialo, located in Nampula Province in northern Mozambique.

 


Mozambique, Nampula: The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will donate $18.5 million for the construction of a new electrical substation in Namialo, located in Nampula Province in northern Mozambique.

The funds will cover the acquisition and installation of power transformers and other electrical equipment for the newly built substation, engineering and construction of the substation, as well as supply and installation of new transmission towers, reports Macauhub.

JICA is a Japanese government institution responsible for implementing programmes to support developing countries, which opened an office in Mozambique in 2003.
