Mexico, Yucatan: SSP (Secretariat of Public Security) drug detection dogs have detected 40 packages of marijuana hidden in a power transformer which arrived to a courier company in Merida, Yucatan.

After the intervention of the SSP Canine Unit, 40 packages of marijuana weighing approximately 500 grams were seized from the power transformer which arrived to the shipping company Potosinos from the city of Zapopan and was headed for the coastal town of Chetumal, Quintana Roo.

This is the second case in Mexico that power transformers have been used as drug couriers, as last year more than two tons of liquid cocaine were found in power transformers that arrived to the Mexican port of Progreso from Argentine.
