New transformers at Rivne NPP to increase operational safety
Ukraine, Rivne: Energoatom is replacing power transformers at Units 1 and 2 of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant as part of preventive maintenance and the comprehensive programme to improve the safety of the NPP.
Ukraine, Rivne: Energoatom is replacing power transformers at Units 1 and 2 of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant as part of preventive maintenance and the comprehensive programme to improve the safety of the NPP.
Four power transformers have already been tested and connected to the network and are already in operation, reports EnergyLand.
The remaining two transformers are now actively being replaced at Unit 1, while the second batch of transformers will be installed at the power Unit 2 after the high-voltage testing has been performed.
The replacement of existing transformers, which had reached their service life, will enhance the safety of power units ensuring high seismic resistance and resistance to spontaneous combustion.
