Pakistan, Lahore: Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is seeking bids for the replacement of current transformers at the 3,480 MW Tarbela hydroelectric project on the Indus River.

As part of the Tarbela Dam extension project, WAPDA is calling for bids on a turnkey basis to replace the existing current transformers, busbar, circuit breakers and disconnect switches at the 500/220 kV switchyard at Tarbela power station with higher-rating 220 kV SF6 current transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, and a 220 kV busbar.

This call for tender follows the one held in December 2014, when WAPDA took bids for the supply of a generator transformer fire protection system for Units 11-14 of Tarbela power station.

The bids are due by March 25.
