India, Maharashtra: Mumbai-based engineering and construction company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has commissioned two 765 kV substation projects in Maharashtra and Rajasthan, India.

The company has completed India’s first 765 kV gas insulated substation (GIS) with power transformers and associated electrical equipment in Pune, Maharashtra, in partnership with a South Korean industrial conglomerate Hyosung, reports NetIndian.   

The second project is a 2 x 1500 MVA 765/400 kV air insulated substation commissioned and executed on a turnkey basis in Rajasthan.  

This is the largest substation in Rajasthan with the capacity to transmit power at 765 kV level from various generating stations, which will also act as an interface for the national grid connection to the power grid substations in Gwalior and Bhiwani.
