VPower installs first 33 kV/230 kV power transformer in Myanmar
China, Hong Kong: VPower, a Hong Kong-based short to medium term power generation company, has launched a gas-fired interim power plant in Rakhine State, Myanmar, which is the first gas-fired power plant that connects directly to the country's 230 kV grid.

This is VPower’s first project to install a complete 33 kV/230 kV power transformer and switchgear module in Myanmar. Typical temporary power plants are connected to the 33 kV transmission lines, reports Virtual Press Office.
During the works, the VPower site crew had to overcome a challenge of delivering one of the heaviest 33/230 kV setup power transformer and equipment at over 100 tons to the building site in the rural area near Kyauk Phyu.
The project will support Myanmar’s existing generating capacity with additional 45 MW of power.
