Transformer thieves arrested in Spain
The police arrested transformer thieves on the way back from 'work' last night to Valladolid. The arrest taking place in Simancas meant that a year long search for the criminals was finally over.

The police arrested transformer thieves on the way back from work last night to Valladolid, Spain. The arrest taking place in Simancas meant that a year long search for the criminals was finally over.
The gang leader has been identified as Stefan N, a 21 year old with more than a hundred Spanish police arrests on his record . He was in charge of distributing the stolen transformers once they had been sold. One of the other two detainees is only 19 years old and had just joined the gang, while the other is 30 and holds worse criminal record than his ‘boss’. He had been arrested for 11 burglaries in the last two weeks. Despite his criminal history the Medina del Campo judge had released him.
However, the gang members did not run the same luck yesterday with the Valladolid judge who interrogated them and then ordered their imprisonment without bail. The prisoners are now facing deportation from Spain due to repetitive offences.
The Civil Guard of Spain had started the Operation Transformers earlier this year in search of 84 electrical transformers worth an estimated $250,000. Now the thieves have been arrested, they will be charged with at least a hundred agricultural and residential burglaries across 30 municipalities in the south of the province.
