Within the approved funding, $4.1 million will be appropriated to cover the acquisition of a new power transformer, site labour, and a power control room near the intersection of Raymond Stotzer Parkway and Wellborn Road for the previously approved Agronomy Road Data Center Utility Infrastructure Project, reports The Eagle.

Completion on the entire project is expected for May 2016.

The flagship campus also received approval to take out a pair of 1 per cent interest loans from the State Energy Conservation office worth more than $11.3 million for the two-phase Energy Consumption Reduction Project.

Construction on the project is expected to begin this June and should be completed by June 2016.
