MRSK North Caucasus branch in Kabardino-Balkaria (part of the Rossetti Group) installed 15 TGFM -110 transformers, 19 disconnectors RGN -110, 9 current limiting reactors , DC protectors and laid more than 20 miles of control cable.

The completion of the first stage is strategically important as it improves electricity supply in the state. The first stage reconstruction is part of a larger project.

Two sets of gas-insulated circuit breakers have also been installed at the transformer substation.

Reconstruction of PS Nalchik-110 is a key project of the MRSK North Caucasus investment programme in Kabardino-Balkaria. The investment funds allocated for its implementation are about 140 million rubles. Additional 127 million rubles will be spent by the end of the year.

The substation was put into operation 77 years ago and today is the oldest and the most reliable link to the main grid providing electricity to about one-third of housing and utility consumers in the city of Nalchik.

In 2011, the capacity of the substation has been increased due to the replacement of the 20 MVA transformer T- 1  to a 25 MVA transformer.

The reconstruction of  the Nalchik-110 substation  will improve reliability of electricity supply  as well as enable new consumers to connect to electricity.

The whole reconstruction has been carried out without power cuts.
