Nizhegorodskaya GES  joined a 110 transformer and the 220 kV transformer 2T providing hydraulic units for power outputs 3. and 4.

The reconstruction of ORU has been strictly planned and timed by Nizhegorodskaya GES.

During the reconstruction work up to date, the specialists at ORU 110/220 kV have replaced obsolete air circuit breakers, disconnectors, current and voltage transformers for modern gas-insulated equipment with microprocessor control and protection units manufactured by Siemens and NPP EKRA.

The specialists have also started to partition the ORU which will increase the reliability of complex and basic equipment at the station.

In conjunction with the switchgear repair, the specialists and contractors will reconstruct the systems of hydraulic units  4. 5. and  6. and replace all eight 13.8 kV voltage transformers at the hydroelectric station.

The reconstruction project of the station was launched in 2012 and should be complete in 5 years. By 2017, 27 switches,  88 disconnectors, 7 transformers and about  700 metres of bus bars.

The reconstruction is carried out in accordance with the project without reducing the electricity supply.
