JCP&L installs 120-ton transformer at West Amwell substation
USA, New Jersey: Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has completed a $10 million substation expansion project in West Amwell Township, which will benefit 75,000 customers in Hunterdon County and the Hopewell Township area of Mercer County, New Jersey.
USA, New Jersey: Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has completed a $10 million substation expansion project in West Amwell Township, which will benefit 75,000 customers in Hunterdon County and the Hopewell Township area of Mercer County, New Jersey.
As part of the expansion, a new 120-ton power transformer has been installed along with four new circuit breakers to protect vital equipment, and technology to prevent widespread outages, FirstEnergy states in the press release.
Crews also installed a new 800-metre section of 230 kV transmission line with five monopoles.
