USA, Michigan: Construction of a new electric substation has begun on South County Line Highway near Morocco Road in Deerfield Township, Michigan, USA.

The Morocco substation, which will include installation of power transformers and associated electrical equipment, is being built to supply replacement electricity to parts of Lenawee and Monroe counties after the coal-fired Whiting generation plant in Monroe County is shut down next April, reports Lenconnect.

The substation is part of ITC’s Michigan Electric Transmission Company system.

The project is to be completed by the end of this year.
