Cevian Capital increases ownership of ABB

Switzerland, Zurich: Cevian Capital II GP Limited, an international investment company, has further increased its stake in ABB, having purchased more shares on 22 June, according to its disclosure notice.

 


Switzerland, Zurich: Cevian Capital II GP Limited, an international investment company, has further increased its stake in ABB, having purchased more shares on 22 June, according to its disclosure notice.

The company has increased its stake to just over 118 million ABB shares, which is equivalent to 5.1% of total ABB Ltd share capital and voting rights, according to ABB’s website.

Only a month ago, on 27 May, Cevian acquired a 3.1% stake in ABB, triggering a surge of almost 4% for ABB shares.

The investment makes Cevian one of ABB’s three largest shareholders, along with Sweden’s Investor AB, which owns 9.3%, and BlackRock Inc. USA, which has 3%.
