USA, Phoenix (KSAZ): Around 877 customers were left without power due to a transformer fire in the area of 28th Avenue and Bell.
The fire impacted homes and businesses of APS customers near 35th Avenue to 27th Avenue. The power cut was noticed at around 7:30.

The morning commute was aggravated when several traffic lights went out leading to part of 29th Avenue being closed off.

For some customers the power came back on an hour later, but APS was still working to restore power for the rest by late morning.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
