Cevian Capital, one of ABB’s three largest shareholders with 5.1% of total ABB Ltd share capital, is looking to significantly increase its share in the Swiss-Swedish industrial giant.

According to Swiss media reports, Cevian Capital is looking to achieve control of 20% of the voting rights in the company through a partnership with Investor AB, Swedish investment company controlled by the Wallenberg family, which currently owns slightly below 10% of ABB shares, reports SvD.

There are speculations in the media that Cevian entry might force ABB into a division into a Power and Automation company.
