Philippines, Nueva Vizcaya: The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has set up an additional 75 MVA power transformer in its substation in Bayambong, Nueva Vizcaya, to meet the load requirements of the mining projects in the province.

According to the NGCP community relations officer for Northern Luzon, Lilibeth Gaydowen, the additional transformer also enables them to comply with the N-1 provision of the Philippine Grid Code, which requires back up equipment to prevent outage when other transformers are not available or undergo scheduled shutdown.

“These are some of NGCP’s improvements for the country’s transmission network. We aim to build the strongest power grid in Asia,” Gaydowen said.
