Installation of power transformers begins at Yakutsk GRES-2

Russia, Sakha Republic: RusHydro and RAO Energy System of East have begun the installation of power transformers at the construction site of the first stage of a new power station in Yakutia, Yakutsk GRES-2.

As part of the project, four block power transformers of the rated power of 63 MVA will be installed, as well as two power transformers of 25 MVA for the supply of electricity to local consumers, reports Metal Info.

Yakutsk GRES-2 is one of the four investment projects of RusHydro to build new power facilities in the Far East, implemented jointly with RAO Energy Systems of East.

The electrical output of the first stage of the new hydroelectric power station will be 193 MW. The new station will replace the outdated Yakutsk power and provide sufficient capacity for Yakutsk and the whole of Central Yakutia.
