Mardan power boosted with new 250 MVA transformers

Pakistan, Lahore: The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director to Pakistan, John Groarke, inaugurated two new autotransformers for the 220 kV grid station Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

 


Pakistan, Lahore: The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director to Pakistan, John Groarke, inaugurated two new autotransformers for the 220 kV grid station Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

The two new transformers of 250 MVA and the repair of one 160 MVA damaged transformer will add 660 MVA to the capacity of the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) system which will help reduce load shedding in Mardan district and other relevant areas, reports The Nation.

USAID has also provided training, equipment and vehicles to enhance the capacity of Pakistan’s electricity distribution companies LESCO, QESCO, MEPCO and SEPCO.
