The EPEN completed the installation of a new transformer in Plottier, Argentina after nearly 11 hours of continuous work and a power outage across the city.
The new transformer will double the electricity generation for the city.
The installation of the new transformer is a stopgap until major works take place, which are planned in order to stop frequent blackouts occurring in the city for the last two summers and causing inconvenience.
The new 10 mW transformer is sufficient to meet the demand of Plottier population at this time of the year.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Cooperative substation in Plottier will be able to withstand the new system and not cause inconvenience to the consumers in the household, and medium and large business sectors in the city.
