Adrar wind farm to be tested

The construction of the Adrar wind farm, Algeria which commenced in 2011, is making good progress. Testing of the wind turbines is scheduled for December 2013.

The construction of the Adrar wind farm, Algeria  which commenced in 2011, is making good progress. Testing of the wind turbines is scheduled for December 2013.

The new power plant is gradually taking shape. The engineering company CEEG has recently announced that construction will be completed shortly.

Six turbines have been mounted by Etterkib and civil engineering works entrusted to Inerga have been completed. Assembly of the electrical equipment has already begun. The housing structures for the transformers are close to completion and the transformers will soon be ready for the installation, connection and commissioning. The service testing is scheduled for December 2013.

The new central 10 MW power plant, one of the kind in the country, is located on 30 ha in Kabertène, 73 km north of Adrar.

Etterkib and Inerga from Sonelgaz Group have been involved with the civil engineering and the assembly of the equipment for the facility in hope to reflect strategic vision of the Group which aims to develop new techniques in the field of renewable energy integration.
