Yesterday, the president of the EPE (The Provincial Power Company), Daniel Cantalejo and vice president , Cristian Berrino, visited the transformer station owned by Transener SA  in Pérez, Argentina.

The technicians at the stations are currently  trying to repair faults recorded in one of the transformers. The malfunction of the transformer No 6., which weighs 240 tons, affects the normal power supply. The transformer is six years old and valued at $ 4.8 million.

Cantalejo indicated that “during the visit, the technicians were draining the 90,000 liters of oil that the equipment normally uses to maintain constant temperature while it is operating. On completion of the draining, the technicians will be able to determine the fault type and plan the repair method.”

Cantalejo also noted that “for the duration of the transformer malfunction, the EPE and Transener are considering joining forces to optimise the operational capacity of the five remaining transformers to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the town.”
