Transformer failure in Punto Fijo causes power outage

Yesterday, the malfunction of the first of five electrical circuits on Paraguaná peninsula in Falcón, Venezuela, left the area without power supply.

Yesterday, the malfunction of the first of five electrical circuits on Paraguaná peninsula in Falcón, Venezuela, left the area without power supply.

The outage occurred due to failure of power transformer at the Punto Fijo substation (Las Margaritas).

Different parts of Punto Fijo, including Las Margaritas, Santa Irene and Pedro Manuel Arcaya were left in the dark yesterday.

The regional manager of Corpoelec Falcón, Daniel Alvarez, confirmed that the outage occurred because of the transformer failure yesterday morning.

According to Corpoelec Falcón Through Twitter account, teams of workers have started working in the early hours to resolve the problem at the substation.
