USA, Washington: Seattle City Light plans to start work next month on the $209.5 million Denny Substation in South Lake Union, which will distribute power to north downtown of Seattle, Washington.

The substation will have nine transformers in the interior yard, but they will not be visible from the street. The equipment will be mostly hidden from public view, and no overhead wires will come in or out of the substation, reports Daily Journal of Commerce.

The new facility will be complete in December 2018, but transmission line and electrical components will be added later.
