Transformer failure in distribution of electrical energy rate in 2013 has dropped considerably in Tizi-Ouzou, Algeria, said director of Centre for Distribution of Electricity and Gas.

Transformer failure in distribution of electrical energy rate in 2013 has dropped considerably in Tizi-Ouzou, Algeria, said director of Centre for Distribution of Electricity and Gas.
“Voltage drops and other reoccurring breakdowns at the electricity distribution facilities have dropped significantly in 2013 for the benefit of nearly 330,000 consumers,” according to Bara Salah, APS manager.
Salah attributed the failure decline to the commissioning of 77 new substations at 600 million dinars ($ 7.7 million) cost, as part of emergency plan materialised through the Centre’s budget.
The manager also expects “a significant improvement in the electrical supply due to the commissioning of 110 other transformer stations taking place in March for an estimated cost of 560 million dinars ($ 7.6 million).“
“The same emergency programme regarding the first part of 2014 will include the expansion of the existing network to 100 km of power lines and the replacement of 106 transformers.“
