Vietnam needs $148B to invest in national electricity grid by 2030

Vietnam: Vietnam will need around $148 billion to invest in developing the national electricity grid and resources in the period between 2016 and 2030.

 


Vietnam: Vietnam will need around $148 billion to invest in developing the national electricity grid and resources in the period between 2016 and 2030.

Under the adjusted national electricity development plan, the country will expand and upgrade its national power transmission grid and power transformer stations, reports Vietnam.net Bridge.

The plan also specifies Vietnam will increase the proportion of electricity produced from renewable energy sources, with the total capacity of hydroelectric power resources expected to rise from the current 17,000 MW to 27,800 MW by 2030; the total solar power capacity rising to 12,000 MW by 2030; and the total capacity of thermo-electrical plants rising to 45,800 MW by 2025.
