Canada, Saskatchewan: SaskPower has added a second power transformer to its Fleet Street substation in the city of Regina to accommodate recent and future load growth in the eastern and northern parts of the city.

The $9 million (CAD11.5 million) upgrade to the substation, which included a new transformer, will allow SaskPower to reroute power more effectively during outages that inevitably come with summer wind and lightning storms, reports Leader-Post

The transformer, which incorporates new designs for safeguarding electrical components, is now online with final work and testing taking place.
