EPE transformer explosion leaves 11 buildings without power in Rosario

The explosion occurred yesterday in the Fonavi complex in Thompson and Grandoli area, Rosario, Argentina. The noise caused panic amongst the residents but there were no reported injuries. Eleven buildings in the Fonavi complex lost power as a result of the transformer explosion. Each building has 43 flats.
According to the eyewitnesses, dense black smoke appeared on the ground floor in one of the buildings in the housing complex, and within minutes a mighty explosion shook the windows in several housing blocks in the area.
The locals recalled there was a similar power transformer explosion a few years ago, which took a long time to repair.
