Schneider Electric has acquired Yekaterinburg Plant, Russia which will be named Schneider Electric Ural and produce equipment under the Schneider Electric brand.

Schneider Electric has acquired Yekaterinburg Plant, Russia which will be named Schneider Electric Ural and produce equipment under the Schneider Electric brand.
After the purchase of the Yekaterinburg Plant, Schneider Electric Russian production base will consist of 3 logistics centers and 7 factories. The company also owns a 100 % share in the Group’s enterprises Electroshield – TM Samara which have been acquired in 2013.
The Yekaterinburg Plant was founded in 1942 and has been engaged in producing complete transformer substations and medium voltage switchgear for power supply systems and various industries for more than 70 years. Before the deal with Alstom in 1990, it was called Sverdlovsk Electromechanical Plant. The equipment was mainly sold in Russia and the CIS countries.
President of Schneider Electric in Russia, a senior vice president of the CIS noted that the company’s partnership with the plant at the technological level and was conducted prior to its acquisition.
