New KIA car factory to use Siemens power distribution technology
Germany, Erlangen: Hyundai Engineering Mexico awarded Siemens a contract to install power distribution technology in a new automobile plant in Mexico being built by a Korean automotive manufacturer, KIA Motors.

The order includes all electrical equipment relating to the substation for the electrical distribution network in the factory, including the medium– and low-voltage transformers, medium- and low-voltage switchgear, and two capacitor banks, the manufacturer said in a press release.
The order volume for Siemens amounts to around $12 million.
The new factory being built in the Pesquería Municipality of the state of Nuevo León in Mexico is expected to commence operation in May 2016.
