Transformer repairing workshop built in Chandauli district

UP Power Corporation Ltd Managing Director, AP Mishra inaugurated the newly constructed transformer repairing workshop at Sahupuri in Chandauli district, India, on Saturday.

He stated that the private firms take a long time to repair transformers contributing to the permanent problem of the transformer shortage. He added that the UPPCL is prepared to supply 14-hour electricity to rural areas after the 26th January.

The Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Ltd constructed the departmental transformer repairing workshop in Sahupur in order to attempt to resolve the shortage. Chandauli, Ghazipur and other districts will benefit from the workshop where the transformers from 10 kVA to 630 kVA will be repaired.

A saving of Rs 500,000 – 700,000 (approx. $ 8,000 – 11,500) will be possible with 250 – 300 damaged transformers repaired every month in this workshop which cost Rs 1.25 crore ($ 20 million) to build.
