Today, the director of Adesur, Eulalio Moncada said that the south region is at risk to lose power due to the transformer that supplies Choluteca and Valle, Honduras could fail at any time.

The Pavana transformer is failing due to 22 years of high demand of the population and businesses in the area. Moncada said the National Electricity Company (ENEE) will temporarily supply the power through the substation in Los Prados.

While awaiting a new transformer to be installed, the Company will provide a mobile transformer in February to take over the load of the old transformer which could fail at any point. Eulalio Moncada said the current Pavana transformer is working at 120 % capacity.
