Nigeria, Abuja: In an attempt to avert future power system collapse and enhance service delivery to electricity distribution companies and consumers in the country, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has identified three short term projects which are expected to have a quick and maximum impact on the transmission network.

The projects include the installation of a 60 MVA, 330/132/33 kV power transformer at the Ife transmission substation, which would be completed within three months and add 48 MW to the nation’s transmission capacity, reports Vanguard.

The other two projects include repair of 60 defective 33 kV circuit breakers, and maintenance of international 330 kV lines to ensure system stability and revenue earnings.
