INDIA: The Bhopal Energy Department has set out an action plan to upgrade its power supply with new transformers.

In order to ensure adequate availability of power and supply of quality and uninterrupted power, the transmission system will be strengthened by constructing 54 new extra high voltage sub-stations this year. Besides, transformer capacity in existing sub-stations will be increased by 3,740 MVA.
There is also a scheme to construct 111 new 33/11 KV sub-stations in all 3 power distribution companies to strengthen distribution system. A target has been set to increase capacity of 322 power transformers at various places.
