PPL to replace 6 power transformers in Lancaster

USA, Pennsylvania: PPL Electric Utilities in Lancaster will replace old, worn-out power transformers in the Old Town neighbourhood to improve service reliability. The works will commence next week and are expected to take about a month to complete.

USA, Pennsylvania: PPL Electric Utilities in Lancaster will replace old, worn-out power transformers in the Old Town neighbourhood to improve service reliability. The works will commence next week and are expected to take about a month to complete.

Six old power transformers will be replaced as well as approximately 220 m of underground and 146 m of overhead power lines.

John M. Levitski, PPL Electric Utilities’ regional affairs director for Lancaster commented “Our customers rely on us for dependable service. Projects such as this, combined with our year-round maintenance programmes, are aimed squarely at improving operations and service reliability for our customers.”

The works are part of ongoing network PPL investments worth $1 billion per year over the next five years to strengthen its transmission and distribution systems and replace aging equipment.
