Tanzania: Government of Tanzania will commit $3.2 million towards the implementation of the rural electrification project over a period of five years.
The project, dubbed Turnkey Phase III, is anticipated to bring electricity to 7,697 villages through the grid extension, while 176 villages will be connected via off-grid systems, reports ESI-Africa.
Transmission of electricity through the national grid will involve villages that have so far been reached by grid-extension infrastructure, putting in place new transformers in the areas which have the transmission infrastructure, and also those areas covered by the Turnkey Phase II Densification
