Flashes from Recife transformer explosion light up the night sky

Brazil, Recife: At least three fire engines worked to put out the transformer fire at a substation owned by the Brazilian power company Energy Company of Pernambuco in the Peixinhos district of Olinda, north of Recife.

 


Brazil, Recife: At least three fire engines worked to put out the transformer fire at a substation owned by the Brazilian power company Energy Company of Pernambuco in the Peixinhos district of Olinda, north of Recife.

The fire department said the fire was caused by a leak of mineral oil from one of the transformers, according to Diario de Pernambuco.
