Mitigating risk in power T&D: new whitepaper

With ageing fleets across the globe and growing energy demands, utility providers are under increasing pressure to implement new technologies that can enhance transformer safety and operating performance. With ageing fleets across the globe and growing energy demands, utility providers are under increasing pressure to implement new technologies that can enhance transformer safety and operating performance. To help support the industry in minimising unplanned outages, MIDEL has written a whitepaper examining the risks associated with power and distribution transformers, and looking at how these can be mitigated.

The whitepaper, Protecting What Matters in Power Transmission and Distribution, focuses on understanding the main causes of transformer failure and explaining how ester fluids can aid change in application design. It also details operational considerations when comparing esters with alternative insulating fluids, such as mineral oil, including fire point temperatures, effect on insulation paper lifetime and moisture tolerance levels.
