Canada, Montreal: Technological Montreal company, Morgan Schaffer is growing so fast in the global market for large high voltage electrical transformers that it will soon have its first subsidiary south of the border, writes La Presse.

Trivial at first glance, such a project is nevertheless a milestone for Morgan Schaffer which has doubled its revenues beyond the $ 30 million in the last 4 years. The workforce has also doubled to more than 100 employees  consisting primarily of high technological content postings.

In fact, Richard Bérubé, the president and principal shareholder, thinks that the sooner the US subsidiary is functional, the better it is for Morgan Schaffer in order to manage its growth ambitions in a more flexible way.

“Our clients are mostly international, over 90% in fact. But our biggest market remains the United States, with all the investment made to strengthen and enlarge the large distribution electricity networks ,” says Bérubé.

The company decided to install its next subsidiary in Philadelphia because it is the favourite location of major electricity distribution operators which have been served by Morgan Schaffer’s expertise in preventive monitoring of high voltage transformers for many years.

Bérubé  commented on what he considers his major ongoing management challenges at Morgan Schaffer, “Quality assurance and continuous improvement in all major business functions. This is essential in the type of market where we are, considering very high expectations of our customers.”
