15 power transformers in transport to Siderúrgica Nacional, Ciudad Piar

Venezuela, Bolivar: A total of 6,894 cubic metres of goods, ranging from machinery to equipment, is being shipped from Muelle de Palúa in San Felix, to the new Siderúrgica Nacional (National Steel Company), located in Ciudad Piar. Amongst the goods being transported were power transformers, cranes and hoists.

Venezuela, Bolivar: A total of 6,894 cubic metres of goods, ranging from machinery to equipment, is being shipped from Muelle de Palúa in San Felix, to the new Siderúrgica Nacional (National Steel Company), located in Ciudad Piar. Amongst the goods being transported were power transformers, cranes and hoists.

15 transformers, 3 cranes with a 45-tonne capacity and 6 hoists, 1.8 tonnes each, were being transported on the ship BBC Georgia from Brazil within the framework of a bilateral agreement between the two countries and funded by the National Economic and Social Development Bank.

The load has been dispatched from the port of Santos in Brazil, by the construction company Andrade Gutierrez, the leader of steel project in question, writes El Diario.

It is expected that the transport to Ciudad Piar will take about a week.

Siderúrgica Nacional has also recently received a batch of goods from Europe and amongst it was a power transformer for the electric arc furnace.

The Minister of Industries, Wilmer Barrientos, announced during a visit to the Siderúrgica Nacional, that the equipment in transport will enable the completion of almost 50 % of the factory which is scheduled to start operation in a couple of years.
