The Minister said a barrage will be constructed across the Krishna near Shakhti Nagar in order to ensure uninterrupted water supply to the RTPS during the summer. “The idea will materialise after holding discussions with Water Resources Minister M.B. Patil,” he said.

According to the Minister, planned power transformer repair mission had turned out to be a problem so the department is planning to set up transformer repair units in all taluks of the State.

“There is also a plan to train industrial training institute (ITI) students in repairing transformers. This will also expand their employment opportunities,” said the Minister.

“We will make sure that there is no power crisis in during summer. Apart from maximising power generation, we are exploring ways to purchase power from Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra to overcome any shortage during summer,“ he added.
